Boasting an all-new compact engine, shorter wheelbase and new styling, the new GSX-R1000 raises the bar once more in the hotly-contested Supersport class. With significant changes in the engine department, the new GSX-R boasts a more over-square bore and stroke, larger, titanium valves, a higher compression ratio, and 12 hole fuel injectors, to deliver a finer fuel mist for more complete combustion. All this with a power-plant that is 59mm shorter from front to rear.
And it‘s not just the engine that‘s seen the significant changes either, as the all-new chassis makes the GSX-R1000 more agile than ever before.
With a unique engine and chassis package, the aggressive aesthetics and rider controls top-off the flagship GSX-R. With the unique Suzuki Advanced Exhaust System, featuring low-slung MotoGP inspired titanium exhausts, a lighter, sculptured fuel tank, on-board lap timer and revised Suzuki Drive Mode Selector controls, the new bike offers the complete sports package.

MORE DETAILS
999cm3 4-cylinder powerplant, lighter and 59.6mm shorter from front to rear, delivers more power and torque, and enhanced throttle response across the entire rpm range.
The new compact engine enables a 10mm shorter wheelbase and 33mm longer swingarm for more nimble cornering and greater traction and acceleration out of the corners.
New, more over-square bore x stroke of 74.5mm x 57.3mm (changed from 73.4mm x 59.0mm) gives the engine better overall tuning potential.
The compression ratio is now 12.8:1, changed from 12.5:1.
12-hole fuel injectors produce a finer fuel mist for more complete combustion, reducing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) offers push-button selection of three performance settings to suit specific corners, riding conditions or rider preference. The switch is relocated to the left handlebar control module.
Big Piston Frontforks (BPF) with an endurance-race-proven design deliver superb feedback and responsive, stable operation.
The front forks feature adjustable spring preload, rebound and compression damping
Lighter brakes and wheels reduce the un-sprung mass improving suspension performance.
The instruments gain a lap timer/stopwatch controlled by the right handlebar control module.
