The New FLY 50 combines elegant lines and a modern design with the superior finish synonymous of the Piaggio brand.
The New Fly is characterised by meticulous attention to detail and chrome finished accents like the storage compartment and dash border.
Improved storage capacity
The storage spaces have been exploited to their fullest potential: In addition to the under seat storage for 2 jet helmets with visors, the leg shield compartment can store everyday items (wallets and mobile phone)
Convenient bag hook is extracted from the seat and the ‘”foot” platform with a sophisticated anti-slip design, can carry bulkier objects. The luggage rack, which doubles as a handle for the passenger, offers the possibility to fit an additional top box.
The fuel tank has been positioned under the platform; an extremely clever solution to keep weight low whilst maintaining the fuel capacity and solution to keep weight low whilst maintaining the fuel capacity and increasing the storage capacity.
Access to the fuel supply is via the hatch located in the lower part of the leg shield where a secure, lockable fuel cap is located.
New Piaggio FLY offers improved interior space thanks to a design that facilitates access for riders of different sizes.
The seat has a ‘height of only 760 mm which improves rider comfort and control while manoeuvring the vehicle while stationary.
The New 50cc 4-valve engine has the brilliance of the 2T but with the low fuel consumption and emissions of 4-stroke engines.
The 4-valve led to a power increase of over 23% compared to the 2-valve configuration (4.35 bhp against 3.53 bhp) equalling the power of the 50cc 2-stroke.
The valve mechanism has been lightened reducing inertia allowing higher inertia allowing higher revs and more power.
The improved combustion chamber shape optimizes combustion process reducing fuel consumption (141mpg @ 50 kph) and encouraging a low level of emissions.
